Persons presently engaged in ministry (or with previous experience in ministry) who seek to deepen their knowledge and broaden their skills through a structured course of study may find the Certificate in Advanced Pastoral Studies to meet their needs.
Applicants with a Master of Divinity degree (or its equivalent), ordination (or its equivalent), and a minimum of three years of professional ministry may enroll in this program, which involves coursework in the Doctor of Ministry program but does not require a final dissertation/project. The certificate is granted upon satisfactory completion of six Doctor of Ministry courses:
-“The Pastor as Person” foundational seminar
-“Theology of Ministry” foundational seminar
-“Culture and Mission” foundational seminar
- 3 elective seminars.
Foundational seminars are offered in the Fall and Spring semesters each year as well as during the annual six-week Summer Session. Elective seminars are offered each summer in two-week modules.
