Our residential ministry degree programs are built upon our values of spirituality and social justice, engaging our students in life-learning experiences needed for a global community. Whether you choose continuing education for Christian ordination or a PhD degree in Divinity, our theology courses offer a motivating education for those seeking meaningful change.

Come to SFTS, where the inspiring physical and intellectual environment draws scholars from all over the world. All are welcome here and experience the gift of full inclusion.

You’ll be challenged and supported by our skilled, accessible faculty. From small group tutorials to all-inclusive Interdisciplinary Studies, our professors are dedicated to deepening your understanding of every theological discipline.

SFTS is a founding member of the Graduate Theological Union, one of the largest ecumenical and inter-religious educational partnerships in the United States. You’ll learn about your own religious heritage in a global, multi-faith context.

You’ll deepen your spiritual roots through worship, community involvement, and our groundbreaking Program in Christian Spirituality. At SFTS, you can customize your degree program to include a Concentration in Christian Spirituality or add the Diploma in the Art of Spiritual Direction.

You’ll develop professional competencies for healing ministries through our unique community-based Clinical Pastoral Education program.

You can create a program that works for you. Tailor your education to fit your unique call. Choose the degree, diploma or certificate program that will stretch you as a person and prepare you for your next step in ministry.

SFTS is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools & Colleges and the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada to offer degrees in Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Theological Studies, and Doctor of Ministry.
