Gift Purposes

Gift Purposes
All gifts are welcomed and valued by SFTS.  Financial donations will most effectively assist the Seminary in reaching its goals when the following priorities are observed.

Student Support Fund
Gifts designated for “Student Support” provide funding for financial aid, subsidized student housing, faculty salaries, classrooms, and faculty research.  Combined with other forms of income, donations for “Student Support” enable the Seminary to meet its annual operating expenses.  Please donate your “First Fruit” gifts to Student Support.

Special Offerings
The Seminary is currently receiving gifts in memory of Maximo Callao, former trustee and beloved friend of the Seminary.  The family of Max Callao ask that gifts donated in Max’s memory be designated for the Maximo Callao Trustee Scholarship Fund.

The Seminary is currently receiving gifts in memory of Larry Givens, father of alumna Rev. Diana Givens Moffett.  The family of Larry Givens ask that gifts donated in Larry’s memory be designated for the Eugene Farlough Chair.

Student Scholarship Funds
Gifts designated for Student Scholarships provide scholarships for first and second year students at SFTS.   Outright gifts are welcomed at any time and no minimum amounts are required for outright gifts.  Individuals and groups interested in endowing a named scholarship fund are invited to contact the Seminary’s Seminary and Church Relations Department at 1-415-451-2821.

Faculty Travel and Research Fund
Gifts designated for Faculty Travel and Research enable our world class scholars to remain up to date in their respective fields of study.  Outright gifts are welcomed at any time and no minimum amounts are required for outright gifts.  Individuals and groups interested in endowing this program are encouraged to contact the Seminary and Church Relations office.

Endowed Faculty Chairs
A named faculty chair is a special endowment which underwrites one of the professors teaching and research at SFTS.  Several chairs have been endowed, but new chairs are still available to be fully endowed with gifts of $2 million.

Endowed Student Scholarship Funds

A named student scholarship is a special endowment which underwrites a portion of a student’s tuition at SFTS.  New scholarships are needed and available for funding with minimum gifts of $25,000.
