Workshop on 1001 New Worshipping Communities Initiative
San Anselmo, CA - The Presbyterian Mission Agency will host an innovative workshop at San Francisco Theological Seminary for leaders who have an interest in learning more about the 1001 Worshipping Communities initiative within the Presbyterian Church USA.
The workshop entitled, Get Into The Game, will focus on the PC-USA’s initiative to create 1,001 new worshipping communities in the denomination over the next ten years. Specifically, 1001 New Worshiping Communities is a movement to form new and varied forms of church for a changing culture, utilizing different and creative ideas of doing worship beyond the traditional church model. Some of the new worship communities that are already part of the program include coffee houses, cafes, theatre projects, youth athletic programs and volunteer organizations.
The Get Into The Game workshop will be led by Vera White, director of 1001 New Worshipping Communities initiative and Craig Williams of Presbyterian Centers for New Church Innovation. The workshop is open to seminary students, presbytery leaders, teaching elders, ruling elders, church planters and anyone who is interested in starting new worship communities within the PC-USA.
