Faith & The Common Good Lecture

On Thursday April 11, as part of its annual Alumni Reunion, SFTS is honored to present Nathan George as the speaker for its lecture series on Faith and the Common Good. This lecture series provides an opportunity for SFTS alumni/ae, students, friends of the seminary and the wider community to be inspired by people of faith who serve others in their vocations.

Nathan is the CEO of Trade as One, an online fair trade company that uses consumer spending to create jobs for some of the most disadvantaged people in the world. As a passionate believer in the important role businesses play in breaking cycles of poverty and abuse, he speaks regularly at conferences to challenge both consumers and business leaders to see trade, rather than aid, as the way to address the intractable problems in the developing world.

The presentation includes dinner and a reception. The dinner will take place on the SFTS campus from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, and the lecture will begin at 7:15pm. For more information or to register for the event, please contact Janel Stewart at or (415) 451-2830.
