The Clinical Pastoral Education Program at San Francisco Theological Seminary, in partnership with The Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy, is pleased to offer this Companionship Training facilitated by Laurie Garrett-Cobbina, Shaw Family Chair for Clinical Pastoral Education at SFTS, and Paul Gaffney, Chaplain at Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy.
This original training developed by Rev. Craig Rennebohm, founder of the Mental Health Chaplaincy, offers an introduction to the five practices of Companionship: Hospitality, Neighboring, Sharing the journey side-by-side, Listening, and Accompaniment. This training will give you the tools to listen consciously, with openness and awareness, to the stories and difficulties of others; to enable at least a momentary reprieve; and to encourage a strengthening for the journey ahead.
