Ministry Opportunity Description

Ministry Architects (MA) (www.ymarchitects.com) is a team of experienced children and youth ministry workers who assist churches in building sustainable ministries, one church at a time. Over several years, Ministry Architects has been working with First Presbyterian Church in Westminster, Maryland (http://www.fpcwest.org), helping them establish and successfully maintain a sustainable youth ministry. The church is currently seeking a part-time Director of Youth Ministry who will support a youth program that currently involves 10-25 youth who participate weekly.

FPC Westminster is a vibrant suburban, Presbyterian (USA) church outside of Baltimore with a membership of about 380 people on the roles. FPC boasts about their rich worship with joyful music (in many forms), a strong commitment to local and worldwide ministries, and their dedication to Christian education and evangelism. FPC seeks to worship God joyfully, to share the Good News gladly, to serve God's world willingly, to teach Christ's ways faithfully, and to pray for all people fervently.

Frist Presbyterian Church’s next Director of Youth Ministry should have a college degree, experience in youth ministry leadership and a strong personal faith consistent with the Reformed tradition. Strong teaching, relational, and communication skills are also essential. He or she will supervise the Youth Ministry Coordinator and will be an effective delegator and team player. In addition to nurturing meaningful relationships with youth, their families, and volunteers, the Director of Youth Ministry will be responsible for the following:
• Planning and leading year-round youth group (typically 2-3 times/month)
• Organizing and leading at least one summer mission trip annually
• Executing successful fundraisers throughout the year
• Developing a student leadership team
Interested candidates should submit their resume and cover letter to: fpc.newposition@verizon.net.
