Listen with Your Faith
Lectio Divina Devotion
17 God heard the boy’s cries, and God’s messenger called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “Hagar! What’s wrong? Don’t be afraid. God has heard the boy’s cries over there. 18 Get up, pick up the boy, and take him by the hand because I will make of him a great nation.” 19 Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well. She went over, filled the water flask, and gave the boy a drink. 20 God remained with the boy; he grew up, lived in the desert, and became an expert archer.
I hear you my child,
The cry of desperation,
The silence of confusion,
The frustrations of being lost,
The moaning from your troubles.
I Hear You.
But now I need you to hear me.
Listen with your faith, not your fear.
Society may have pushed you into this wilderness to suffer,
But I will show you how to thrive.
Every tool designed to tear you down will fail.
You WILL overcome.
Listen for courage.
The dry, deserted wilderness that people claim is deadly will not kill you.
You will NOT die.
No, instead I will provide for you the living water,
And open your eyes to the greatness I have in store for you.
Listen for hope.
Stand firm on my promises, believe in me.
Go forth and live the life I have planned for you.
Pass on the living water to others in need.
Become an expert of my ways.
Stay with me. Keep your heart open to my voice.
Listen for truth.
I am always with you.
We walk by faith and not by sight.
Your cries of suffering have not fallen on deaf ears.
Your desire for greater has not gotten lost.
I need you to rise above.
Stand up! Put on the armor of my word.
Prepare to combat evil.
And remember I am with you.
Listen with your faith,
For it is the gateway to your destiny.
